  • Patchwork 1

    Monday 13 May 2019  09:30am - 11:30am at St John's Church Hall

Download to your calendar Download as iCal file

    We meet: 2nd & 4th Mon 09:30‒11:30 at St John's Church Hall.

This year both classes have been well attended as usual, and have produced a variety of articles to a very high standard. Most people don't realise how therapeutic patchwork is, how soothing to sit quietly and produce something in wonderful colours and textures. Do we appreciate how lucky we are to be able to attend classes with friendly people and with Maria to guide and advise?

September's book for discussion is I Know Why the Cage Bird Sings by Maya Angelou. New readers are welcome.

Got a ukulele? Fun-filled sessions playing and singing (not compulsory) ballads, country, rock'n'roll, old-time, classics, etc. Over 100 songs, easy to moderate ability. Hugely enjoyable playing with others. I'm not an expert or teacher, but an enthusiast offering help and encouragement. You should have some knowledge of the basic chords and be able to strum – sorry, no complete novices. Some initial monetary outlay may be necessary. For more information please contact me soon.

We have just met for our last lunch of the 17-18 season. As usual we have been to various pubs: most were OK, some were very good. This last was well attended and everyone enjoyed very good food and lively conversation. Our numbers are restricted by how many the venues can manage, and since most members have asked to continue we are almost full already.
