Highlights included: the expanding Dartford warbler populations, wintering thrushes, redpolls and siskins, the regular visiting great grey shrikes, goosanders on the ponds, displaying woodlarks and tree pipits in the spring, and a very early cuckoo at Farnham Heath. Regrettably this may be the final year so the group is closed to new members. David

12.30pm: New Members' Meet-Up and Lunch.
This is a new initiative aimed at members who have joined U3A for the first time. It will be an opportunity to meet committee members, some of our leaders and other members. There will be a free finger buffet lunch for all who attend.
Afterwards we encourage all to stay on for the first of our
monthly talks at 2pm, at no charge.
The usual members' pre-talk paid lunch will not take place in October, but we expect it to resume again in January.
