We meet: 1st & 3rd Fri 10:00‒12:30 at Unitarian Church Hall (opposite garage).

Please note that the first date, Sep 28th, is for new joiners only.

This will be the third year of a three-year course. Currently well over a dozen members are attending regularly, but I can accept a few more interested members. This will cover the period between 1250ce, (the collapse of Imperial Domination) to 1500ce, (the Protestant Reformation and the collapse of Papal Domination). The class offered on September 28th will summarise earlier work for any new members, to provide an outline of the period covered.

  • History Of Art (afternoon)

    Friday 30 November 2018  02:00pm - 04:00pm at St Mark's Community Centre

We meet: 1st Fri 14:00‒16:00 at St Mark's Community Centre.

There are two groups, run in parallel. Last year we looked at art from the 19th century, from Turner and Constable to the Impressionists (Monet and Pissarro). Over the next year we shall look at the changes from Impressionism to the mid-20th century (from Renoir and van Gogh to Dali and Rothko), trying to see how each period's art reflected the social, political, religious and artistic currents of the time.
