The Joint Guildford & Milford U3A Singers present

The complete Joint Choir

 - The Sound of Musicals!

120 singers from these two groups gave an excellent performance entitled “The Sound of Musicals” at the Millmead Centre, Guildford on Wednesday, 26th June 2019. Admission was free but a voluntary retiring collection for the Guildford Baptist Church Building Redevelopment Project raised £1000.

There was a wide selection of songs from various shows including the 'Sound of Music', 'Les Miserables', 'Oliver', 'Showboat', 'The Lion King' and 'Titanic'. Comedy items included the 'Policeman’s Song' (Pirates of Penzance), 'There Is Nothing Like a Dame' (South Pacific) and 'The Ascot Gavotte' (My Fair Lady). A piano solo by Matthew Smith, our accompianist, “the March of the Swiss Soldiers” from Guillaume Tell, ended with rapturous applause.

The musical directors were Wayne Richardson (Milford) and John Varney (Guildford). This was yet another excellent collaboration for the two groups.

You all look fabulous & I bet you sounded even better! Well done raising so much money too.
Wish I could have been there, but unfortunately clashed with a gig of mine.
