On Friday 10 March 2017, Bob Pedley, a volunteer with Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF), talked about the background and global set up with particular reference to his daughter who is a nurse with MSF.

He explained it is a paid position – doctors or nurses –but at the lowest salary of the worker’s country. It is better to have Nigerian doctors rather than European ones in Nigeria for instance while European/White workers wouldn’t be allowed to work in for instance Syria as they would immediately be a kidnapping risk. He headlines the 3 values MSF works by - Medical aid where it's needed most. Independent. Neutral. Impartial. It is 93% funded by individuals.

Here are links to a couple of videos showing some of the work they do.

It was an enlightening talk with an audience of 68.
